Improving Your Label Printing Design
Label printing for products can be a competitive affair. Color labels are basically the face of your products. They identify the company that made them, and they also convey the quality and value of the product itself.
Therefore, it is very important to constantly improve your label printing design so that people will always notice your products.
To help you out in your label printing endeavor, we have a few tips below on how to improve your custom labels. Consider each one as a strategy to improve your label design. Make a note of each one and you should see your sales increase just because of your improved labels.
Use a different color theme from your competitors
One of the most important things to consider in label printing are your competitors. You must look at the designs that your rival company uses in their label printing. Take a note of the dominant color of their labels. You should notice that most customers would recognize products through their specific color. Especially for the labels for grocery products, this is crucial. Use this fact to your advantage. Once you have taken a note of the color that your rival uses, try to create your design with a totally different color. This basically differentiates your label printing as different from your rival’s. This should establish your products identity and make it a completely unique product from the rest.
Add other content that makes you unique
Aside from the color, if possible try to add other messages in your color label that distinctly identifies you from other products. This usually plays in to the quality of your product and the special or unique things that are incorporated with its production process. Messages like “100% cotton” or “With added vitamins and minerals” are some of the examples of adding content that makes the product label unique. Try to find the characteristic of your product that does not appear on other product labels. Market on that difference and you will see your labels gain attention.
Emphasize the name of your product or company
If your company is already an established brand, then it pays to emphasize it in your label printing. This also applies if your product has a popular name and you are trying to market its variation. Do this by printing the name of your product or company in large text within your label printing. This endows your product with the company’s respectability and image or in the case of an established brand, it tells people that they can expect the same quality as they have always experienced with the similar product. This gives you an added advantage of inviting loyal consumers to new products that you may be producing. Phrases like “from the makers of” or “another quality product from” are examples of this.
Dynamic label printing
Lastly, do not forget to change your label designs periodically. People are always out to try new things. If your design is getting a little old then people will slowly see it as commonplace and do not bother to give it any attention. Injecting a new and fresh design gives new life to your product making people interested in it again.
