How to pack a suitcase

Important comment: due to weight restriction and limiting the amount of suitcases allowed to be taken aboard for one person without additional price for, it’s recommended to pack only the essentials. Everything heavy can be bought abroad and it better than to pay for an extra weight.
Here’s how to pack a suitcase:
Leave the jewelry, medications, glasses, credit cards, money, passports, cameras and other valuables outside the suitcases you want to give away. These belongings are going with you in your hand bag.
Heavier belongings should be stored in the bottom of the suitcase, near the wheels, in order to achieve stability and be carried comfortably.
In order to prevent clothes from being creased, we recommend you roll them in reverse and wrap them in a nylon bag. This method also saves space in the suitcase. Today there are vacuum bags that decrease the space it takes. Estimated cost for these vacuum bags is about 80 shekels a pack. Moreover, you should put the clothes that tend to get creased above the other clothes in the suitcase and divide them between the four corners of the suitcase. You can also roll towels, jerseys, tights, gatkes etc.
Pack cosmetics, perfumes, liqueurs or anything else that can be broken or stain in their appropriate bags or in sealed plastic bags or in an unbreakable box.
Divide the clothes between your suitcase and your couple’s suitcase and the kids. Don’t put them in one suitcase only for the simple reason, that in case one of the suitcases gets lost, you and your couple will still have clothes to wear.
Into the shoes you should compress your socks and even your underwear (taking advantage of dead space) and also keeps the shape of the shoes.
Keep your name and address inside and outside the suitcase. If your details are already written on the suitcase from previous travels, make sure that they are up to date. It is accepted to tag the suitcase on both sides of the label: on one side write your name and address in Israel, and on the other side write the address of your first destination stop. During the trip, alter the address of the destination, according to your trip’s progress. If you make these tags at home, you’ll save a lot of time.
Close the strings and wheels of the suitcase before you deliver them in order to ensure its safety during its handling.
Make sure that the suitcase is locked properly before you deliver it.
Put a personal identification mark on the suitcase, like a colorful lace or sticker on a noticeable place. That way, you’ll be able to identify it quickly and easily when it comes out of the plane.
Don’t forget to put everything that looks like a weapon (pocketknife, scissors, plea etc) inside the big bag that goes to the belly of the plane!
We recommend you print this article.
